Management and Grant Past Projects Scientific Advisory Board member for several early stage technology development companies. Assisted several companies in writing SBIR grants in a variety of fields. Grant applications which relied upon bioDevice as a technical contributor or subcontractor have a very high success rate. Worked with a genomics company to develop an engineering plan to incorporate into a NIST-ATP grant proposal. Also wrote the engineering and proposed technology sections of this proposal. Grant was successful and fully funded. Created technology recommendations and acquisition plans for a medium-sized biotech company. Assisted several companies in establishing new optics and engineering programs and laboratories. Co-founded Illumina, Inc., a genomics technology company currently developing the leading technology in high-density DNA microarrays. Co-founded nGenetics, Inc., a genomics firm formed to leverage emerging genomics technologies. nGenetics' technology and intellectual property were purchased by Illumina, Inc. |
