High-Throughput Screening Past Projects Designed and constructed Alpha models of a highly sensitive Fluorescence-Polarization based compound analysis system. Instruments were successfully shipped to partner sites throughout the US. Instruments based on this design are now being offered as a commercial product. Designed an optical readout system to couple to a MEMS-based compound screening system. Designed and constructed prototypes of multi-color fluorescence imaging systems for ultra-high density microarrays (3 micron samples). Designed and implemented automated sample handling for microarray imaging systems. Up to 96 individual microarrays may be automatically imaged without operator intervention. Co-invented, designed and built the core technology for Illumina's array-of-arrays platform. Designed system integration and automation of high-throughput DNA sequencing chemistries with large-scale 96 and 384-well sample plate handling and storage for automated sequence finishing.
